The Challenge
Calculating the "true" ROI for Rail has always been tricky.
This is made more so by the many variables that faces each train operator on a day-to-day basis:
- Variable Engine + gearbox and power configurations
- Variable Traction Weight – number of carriages and passengers at any given time
- Variable Track Conditions – rain, ice, snow and leaves
- Difference in fuel grade
- Variable driver performance and driving style
